New Sci-fi Movies coming out part 2

As the summer heats up, no need to fret: just head indoors and cool off with some great new movies. The next batch of blockbuster movie offerings include “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets”, “War for the Planet of the Apes”, “Blade Runner 2049”, “Thor: Ragnarok”, and “Justice League”.



Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” is about  “a dark force threatens Alpha, a vast metropolis and home to species from a thousand planets. Special Operatives Valerian and Laureline must race to identify the marauding menace and safeguard not just Alpha, but the future of the universe.” The movie stars Dane DeHaan, Cara Delevingne, and Clive Owen. The film will be released on July 21.



In “War for the Planet of the Apes,” “ Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.” The film will be released July 14 and stars Andy Serkis, Judy Greer and Woody Harrelson.



In the movie “Blade Runner 2049”, “Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos. K's discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.” The film stars Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford. The movie will be released October 6.



Thor: Ragnarok” is the third of the Thor-based movies in the Avengers mega franchise. In this foray, “Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela.” This movie stars Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston, who reprise their roles as Thor and Loki. It also introduces Cate Blanchett as the deity Hela who has been released from her prison and is bend on the destruction of the Asgardians.


The Movie "Justice League" follows Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman as they battle a threat that has come to Earth. “Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes-Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash-it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.” The Film features Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher and Jason Momoa. The film will be released on November 17.
